Greetings brothers,

The leadership team for Associations in Megacities (AIM) would like to encourage you to save the date for our next annual meeting. This gathering is a highlight for all of us and provides a significant time to build relationships and collaborate with other leaders in similar contexts. As many have said for the large Metro (1 million or more) AMS, “this is our tribe.”  We will meet on February 7-9, 2024 in San Antonio, TX. Please note that this is a change from our venue of the last couple of years.

 

We will also be going back to our previous setup for housing. We will NOT have a single hotel for room stays and meetings. Instead our meetings will take place at the San Antonio Baptist Association offices located at 5807 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78201. The SABA is in close proximity (15 mins) to the airport and a number of affordable hotels. Or if you want to splurge, but promise to make it to the meetings, you might choose to stay on the Riverwalk (15-20 mins). 

 

The full AIM meetings will begin with dinner on Wednesday night (2/7) at 6pm (CST) and our final session will conclude on Friday at 12 noon (CST). Wednesday dinner and Thursday lunch will be provided as a part of your registration fee. Cost for the event is $125 for AMS and $50 for wives. There will be events planned on Thursday for the wives. 

 

For new associational leaders serving 2 years or less we will once again provide a time on Wednesday of learning together along with some veteran leaders. This was very well received at last year’s gathering. The Wednesday (2/7) new leaders meeting will begin at 9am (CST) and conclude at 3pm (CST). There is no cost for this time and lunch will be provided. 

 

More information will be coming, but we wanted to give you a basic thumbnail of our plan now. Registration and payment link will be sent in a future email. We are thankful for the leadership and support of Dr. Darrell Horn, SABA AMS, and will be receiving suggestions for hotels and restaurants in future emails as well. 

 

So, please make plans now to join us in San Antonio in February. Feel free to book rooms and flights now if you wish. As always, don’t hesitate to reach out with questions if you have them.
